Not much left of the old snowman, and he's looking leafier than ever. It was nice and warm today so I finally dug up all the carrots and the parsnips. I packed the excess carrots away in a bin of sand to spend the winter in the garage, just like last year. The carrots last year lasted till June before we ran out. I never grew parsnips before so it was interesting to see what I had. Parsnips take forever to germinate and I was sure I had none at all but finally a few sprouted. It's an impressive looking vegetable. Hefty too. I have about 10 of them. Now, what to do with them? Maybe stew or something.
Also last week we went to the local 350 event and won two trees as prizes - one an apple, the other not sure till we see leaves next spring. We dug the holes today and stuck them in. You never know how much longer before the ground freezes so sooner is better than later. As if we needed more trees in this yard... Also I won some green cleaning stuff which I thought wouldn't be that great. It's made from the citrus-type cleaning chemicals and it actually works way better than I ever expected. I'll have to get more.

What is this 360 event?
Aha, I see! (although 360 would still be better than 387...)
